An anesthesiologist faces charges after allegedly giving anesthesia to a victim without her knowledge and sexually assaulting her, police announced.
Putnam County resident Paul Giacopelli of Southeast, age 59, was interviewed and arrested on Saturday, Dec. 30 on sexual abuse charges, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office announced on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
According to authorities, on Friday, Dec. 29, the Sheriff's Office was told that a female victim known to Giacopelli had been given anesthesia without her knowledge and was then sexually assaulted.

Four people, including Westchester and Fairfield County residents, face various charges after they were caught driving while intoxicated in the Hudson Valley, police said.
The arrests all happened in Putnam County over both Saturday, Aug. 19, and Sunday, Aug. 20, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office announced on Tuesday, Aug. 22.

A man is facing multiple felony charges following a road-rage incident in the Hudson Valley, state police said.
At about 3:20 p.m. July, 10, troopers from the Somers barracks were dispatched to Interstate 684 in Putnam County, in the town of Southeast, for a report of a man menacing another motorist with a firearm.

Area Hockey Coach Charged With Assaulting Player, Police Say
A youth hockey coach has been arrested after allegedly hitting a 10-year-old player with a hockey stick, injuring him.
Marvin A. Minkler, age 53, a Connecticut resident, was arrested on Sunday, Oct. 31, in New York and charged with assault and endangering a child, said the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
According to the criminal complaint outlining his arrest, the incident took place on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at the Brewster Ice Arena located at 63 Fields Lane in the town of Southeast.

Tens of thousands of Putnam, Dutchess, and Ulster residents have lost power as Tropical Storm Isaias rocked the region with extreme wind gusts that toppled trees, felled utility poles and downed power lines throughout the area.
Putnam County was hardest hit, with 33,464 of NYSEG’s 38,693 customers reporting outages, with Carmel (11,654), Southeast (5,966), Putnam Valley (4,894), and Patterson (4,460) seeing the most outages.
Central Hudson was responding to 606 total outages that were impacting 63,821 of their customers as of 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

On Friday, June 5, State Police from Cortlandt arrested Andrew C. Pesavento, 32, of Cortlandt, NY, for DWAI Drugs.
