'Best NY Burger' Nominees Include 2 Restaurants In Region When it comes to the best burger in New York, two contenders vying for the title aren't very far away. Rensselaer County eatery Illusive, located in Rensselaer at 3 Ferry Street, and Columbia County’s Chatham Brewery, found in Chatham at 59 Main Street, are among 29 restaurants that were nominated for this year’s Best New York Burger Competition. Voting for the 7th annual contest, which is put on by the New York Beef Council, is underway until Wednesday, April 19. Fire Closes Popular Restaurant In Region A popular Northern Westchester restaurant known for its wings, burgers and ribs and for being a great place for families to have a dinner out is closed due to a kitchen fire. The fire took place in Northern Westchester County on Saturday, April 8 at the New York Firehouse Grille at 63 Welcher Ave., in Peekskill. Although no one was injured, the entire kitchen was destroyed.  The owners said on Facebook the restaurant will be closed while they deal with insurance and rebuild the kitchen.
