High-Risk Sex Offender Found Hiding, Saugerties Police Say A registered sex offender who was allegedly found living in the region has been arrested for violating the sex offender registry. Dennis R. Fellows, age 54 of Saugerties, was arrested for the violation on Saturday, Jan. 14. According to the Saugerties Police, Fellows moved to 171 Churchland Road in Saugerties and failed to notify the registry of his address change within the required 10 days. Fellows was convicted of having sexual contact with children ages nine and 13 years old, according to the state Sex Offender Registry. Ulster County Woman Arrested For DWI After Crashing Car Into Ditch Police charged an area woman with a DWI after she allegedly crashed her car into a ditch.  Ulster County resident Ehlana M. Covert, age 26,  of Saugerties, was uninjured when police responded to the scene of the crash on Churchland Road in Saugerties on Sunday, Dec. 20, according to the Saugerties Police Department.  She was evaluated by paramedics at the scene, police said, before she was brought to police headquarters and her blood alcohol content was measured at 0.15 percent.  Covert was released to a third party, and will appear in court at a later date.

Ulster Man Found Drunk In Vehicle Taken From Business, Police Say A man who took a car from a business without permission was found drunk and sleeping behind the wheel, police said. Officers in Ulster County responded to the Town of Saugerties Highway Department on Churchland Road at approximately midnight on Sunday, July 5, where there were reports of an intoxicated man asleep in a car. At the scene, police said that the officers found Saugerties resident Mark Civitarese, 22, in the driver’s seat of a running car, sleeping.
