Two lanes on a stretch of the Southern State Parkway were closed after a small plane crashed into the adjacent woods on Long Island.

The crash happened on the Southern State Parkway between exits 32 and 33 around 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, near the intersection of routes 109 and 110 and the Republic Airport.
