In a stunt seemingly straight out of “Ocean’s Eight,” authorities are searching for a Long Island thief who managed to steal a thousand-dollar necklace straight off the victim, swapping it with a fake. It happened on Thursday, Sept. 21 in Mineola, Nassau County Police said. Five people are facing charges following an apparent road rage incident on a Long Island street. Nassau County Police were called at around 4:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, with reports of a disturbance in Mineola, on Jericho Turnpike near Willis Avenue. The 23-year-old victim told police that another driver in an Acura MDX had pointed a gun at him before fleeing the scene, police said. Long Island 22-Year-Old Found With Items Stolen From Vehicle, Police Say
A 22-year-old Long Island man was arrested after police said he was found in possession of items stolen from a vehicle. Shawn Harvey, of Hempstead, was arrested in Mineola at 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 6, and charged with criminal possession of stolen property, according to the Nassau County Police Department. A Long Island man has been charged with vehicular homicide following the death of motorcyclist authorities say he hit while allegedly driving under the influence. Two people were hospitalized after a chain-reaction, three-vehicle crash on a busy Long Island roadway overnight. It happened around 3 a.m. Saturday, April 4 in Mineola.
