Person Struck, Killed By Train In Bellport A person was struck and killed by a train on Long Island. The incident took place in Suffolk County around 10:15 p.m., Monday, Jan. 9 just east of Bellport Station. MTA officials said eastbound train 2720 struck an unauthorized person on the tracks, suspending service on the Montauk branch between Patchogue and Speonk for approximately two hours. The name of the victim has not yet been released. The incident is under investigation by the MTA Police. This is a developing story. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Southampton Man Standing On Tracks, Hit, Killed By Train A Long Island resident who was allegedly standing on the tracks was hit and killed by a train. The incident occurred in Southampton around 3:40 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17. According to MTA officials, at about 3:40 p.m., the 3 p.m train from Speonk to Montauk fatally struck Rodney E.  Brumsey, age 57, of Southampton, who was on the tracks west of Southampton Station near the Moses Lane grade crossing. Person Struck, Killed by Lirr Train Near Hampton Bays A person standing on the tracks was struck and killed by a Long Island Railroad Train. The incident took place near Hampton Bays a little after 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 1. According to the Southampton Police, patrol units responded to the area after receiving a call from the MTA that a pedestrian had been struck by a train.  The train stopped west of Hillstation Road where the person was found dead on the eastbound side of the tracks, police said. Suffolk County Man Nabbed For Rape, Endangering Child, Police Say A man was charged for an alleged rape on Long Island after the assault was reported to the police. The incident took place around 11:15 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 1, inside a residence in the hamlet of Speonk, said Sgt. Steven Miller of the Southampton Police. Following an investigation, Southampton Police arrested Gabriel Guat-Pirir, age 44, of Speonk. for rape and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.  Guat-Pirir was held at Southampton Town Police for arraignment.
