5-Year-Old Falls From Second-Story Window In Hampton Bays Police on Long Island are investigating after a 5-year-old child fell from a second-story window. The incident took place in Hampton Bays around 5:55 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 13. Police received a 911 call reporting the event and officers responded to the home along with Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance, according to Lt. Susan Ralph of the Southampton Police. The child fell from an open window approximately 11 feet to the ground and was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center and transferred to Stony Brook Hospital for further treatment, Ralph said.  The Southampton Town Detective …

6-Year-Old Girl Run Over By Jeep While Sledding On Long Island, Police Say A 6-year-old Long Island girl was injured after being run over while sledding in a parking lot by a relative who was loading a Jeep Wranger that began to roll and hit the child. The incident took place around noon, on Sunday, Jan. 30 in the parking lot of Southampton Youth Services, said Lt. Susan Ralph, of the Southampton Town Police. According to Ralph, the child had been sledding, when the relative started the 2007 Jeep in the parking lot and began loading the vehicle when it began to roll forward and then struck the child. Workers Overcome By Carbon Monoxide At Suffolk County Construction Site Two construction employees were overcome by carbon monoxide while working at a home on Long Island. The incident took place around 5 p.m., Thursday, April 15, when Southampton Police received a call regarding an unconscious man at a residence on Bay Avenue North, in Hampton Bays, said Southampton Police Lt. Susan Ralph. Responding officers found one person unconscious inside the residence and one semi-conscious person inside a vehicle outside, Ralph said. Three Shot At Suffolk County House Party Three people were shot during an overnight house party on Long Island. The incident took place around 2:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 2, when Southhampton Town Police responded to a report of a shooting at a house party in the hamlet of North Sea. Multiple responding patrol officers arrived at the home and found partygoers fleeing the scene. Woman Killed, Alleged Drunk Driver Seriously Injured In Suffolk Crash A woman was killed and a man who was allegedly driving drunk was seriously injured when an SUV crashed into a pole overnight on Long Island, police said.
