Hochul Orders Probe Into Alleged Anti-lgbt Bias At Smithtown Libraries New York Gov. Kathy Hochul has ordered an investigation amid accusations that a Long Island library discriminated against the LGBT+ community. In a statement Thursday, July 23, Hochul said she was “horrified” by reports that the Smithtown Library Board had removed all pride displays and any pride book on display from the children’s sections at all four branches. The move was solidified in a 4-2 vote by the library’s board of trustees Tuesday, June 21.
