Police are investigating a shooting during a road-rage incident at a busy Long Island intersection. It happened just before 11 a.m. Thursday, June 8 in Deer Park. That's when a man in a vehicle approaching the intersection of Commack Road and Marcus Boulevard was shot by what appears to be a BB gun or gel pellets coming from a black Hyundai, according to Suffolk County Police. A 26-year-old man accused of beating a father and grandfather to death following a fender bender on Long Island has been formally charged with murder. Patrick Destine, of Queens, was arraigned on second-degree murder and other charges in Nassau County Court on Wednesday, June 7, in the beating death of 54-year-old David McKenzie in Baldwin in April 2023. Officer Arrested In Selden For Road-Rage Incident, Police Say
An off-duty NYPD officer has been charged in an alleged road-rage incident on Long Island. The incident took place in Selden around 11:20 a.m. Saturday, July 23. Douglas Debonet, age 32, of Selden, was arrested after he exited his car at Old Town Road and County Road 83 in Selden and broke a side view mirror on a vehicle involved in the incident, said the Suffolk County Police. A former Nassau County Community College basketball standout has pleaded not guilty in connection to a high-speed chase that left a man dead and injured his ex-girlfriend. Dana King, Jr., of Valley Stream, pleaded not guilty to one count of manslaughter and two felony assault counts on Tuesday in Nassau County Court.
