Woman Hits Riverside Victim In Head With Hammer: Police Police are asking for help in locating a woman accused of attacking a Long Island mother with a hammer and pushing her child. The incident happened Monday, Oct. 30 in Riverside, according to Suffolk County Police. Detectives said Ligia Lopez-Menendez, age 37, went to a friend’s home and pushed the woman’s child before striking the woman in the head with a hammer. The victim was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Her child was not injured. At the time, the victim had an order of protection against Lopez-Menendez. Dutchess County resident Melanie Chianese, age 29, of the town of Wappinger, was found suffering from multiple stab wounds on May 29, 2022.
