Man Nabbed For At Least 14 Burglaries On Long Island, Police Say Police on Long Island have arrested a man who is allegedly responsible for at least 14 burglaries. Police captured the repeat burglar around 11 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 11 while he was attempting to break into a jewelry store in Bellmore, said the Nassau County Police. ID Released For Man Driving Mercedes Killed In Crash On Long Island, Police Say The identity of the driver of a Mercedes-Benz who was killed after colliding with a pickup truck on Long Island has been released. The two-vehicle crash took place in Hewlett around 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 31, on Peninsula Boulevard, said the Nassau County Police.
