Duo Nabbed In Long Island Break-Ins Part Of 'South American Theft Group,' Police Say
Two members of an organized crime ring are behind bars in connection with numerous home break-ins across the country, including in Westchester County and on Long Island, authorities said.
Jorge Luis Araneda Pogge, age 39, and Ingrid Johana Gomez, age 33, were both arrested in Queens Thursday, Jan. 12, following a multijurisdictional investigation that began in 2020, according to Harrison Police.
The pair is accused of taking part in multiple residential burglaries and other theft-related crimes throughout the country, including the Town of Harrison and Nassau County.

Eight New York members of organized crime families, including six from Long Island, are among nine men who have been charged by federal authorities with racketeering and related offenses.

Man Wanted In Multi-State Retail Theft Ring Nabbed On Long Island
Another person has been arrested in connection with a multi-state retail theft ring that allegedly has stolen more than $90,000 in goods.
Jahliil Parrott, 22, of Windsor, was arrested on Monday, Dec. 16, after New Canaan Police traveled to Nassau County, New York, where he was being held on robbery charges, said New Canaan Police Department Lt. Jason Ferraro.
The ring's operation first came to light in Fairfield County in October when three suspects allegedly stole merchandise from the Ralph Lauren Store in New Canaan, stealing more than $300 worth of goods, said Ferraro.
