Suffolk County Police Rescue Malnourished Kitten Caught In Storm Drain A pair of quick-thinking Suffolk County Police officers made a special save, helping rescue a struggling kitten stuck in a Port Jefferson Station storm drain. Officers Joanna Westrack and Daniel Paiva responded to a 911 call on Saturday, Aug. 3, where there was a report of a trapped kitten on Ontario Street. Upon arrival, the officers found the tabby kitten all the way at the bottom of the drain. The resourceful officers used a rope, made a loop, and managed to get the kitten to step into it with his upper body. They then pulled the kitten out of the drain safely without further incident. …
