21-Year-Old From Peconic Charged With DWI After Southold Crash Sends 3 To Hospital A Long Island man has been accused of driving while intoxicated after a single-vehicle crash resulted in three people being hospitalized. Officers responded to a report of a crash on Route 48 in Southold at about 5:15 a.m. Sunday, May 12. Upon arrival, officers found a pickup truck that had struck a tree with three passengers suffering injuries from the collision, Southold Police said.  As a result of an investigation at the scene, the driver, Nicholas Grathwohl, age 21, of Peconic, was transported to SUNY Stony Brook Hospital and charged with driving while intoxicated.
