Two MS-13 Members Convicted For Fatal 2017 Long Island Shooting Two members of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang were convicted on all counts for a fatal shooting in Hempstead in March 2017. Carlos Flores, 26, of Hempstead and Pedro Rivera, 25, undomiciled, were convicted on Monday, Aug. 12 by a jury of: Murder in the second degree (an A-I felony) Conspiracy in the first degree (an A-I felony) Two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree (a C violent felony) The trial before Judge Terence Murphy, lasted approximately one month and the jury deliberated for two days.
