ID Released For Woman Struck, Killed By Car Near Long Island Intersection The identity has been released of a woman who was killed after being struck by a car on a Long Island roadway. The incident happened around 8:10 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21 in Farmingdale. Woman Suffers Head Injuries After Being Hit By Garbage Truck At Busy Long Island Intersection A woman was rushed to the hospital after being hit by a garbage truck on Long Island. It happened Friday, Jan. 24 at around 6:30 a.m. in Farmingdale. The 68-year-old woman was struck by the garbage truck as it was making a right-hand turn westbound on Fulton Street at the intersection of Main Street, according to Nassau County Police. The victim suffered injuries to her head and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
