Long Island Man Dies In Vermont Skiing Crash, Police Say
A Long Island man died after hitting a tree while skiing in New England. It happened on Saturday, Dec. 28 at approximately 3 p.m. at the Killington Resort in Vermont. Nassau County resident Jason Vitale, 48, of Baldwin, was traveling at a high rate of speed on an intermediate trail when he lost control and collided with the tree, according to Vermont State Police. Vitale, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, was quickly moved off the mountain by members of the Killington Ski Patrol, state police said.
