The 15-year-old girl was riding her bicycle on Bayville Avenue in Bayville at approximately 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, when she was struck by a 2020 Dodge Ram head-on before the driver turned left onto Dickerson Avenue, police said. The teenager suffered head trauma and was airlifted by a Nassau County Police helicopter to a local hospital, where she is currently listed in stable condition. First responders were dispatched to Covanta on Merchants Concourse in East Garden City at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, where there was a report of a man that fell nearly two dozen feet through a roof. Upon arrival, it was determined that a worker fell through a hatch on the roof, dropping approximately 20 feet onto another tier of roofing prior to his rescue.
