Police are searching for the driver involved in a Long Island hit-and-run that left a man injured and lying in the street. It happened on Tuesday, Aug. 16 just after 6:30 p.m. in Garden City Park, according to Nassau County Police. At that time, a witness saw a black Acura hit the victim in Dyckman Avenue and continued driving. The victim, a 32-year-old man, was left in the street. Girl Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Pickup Truck On Long Island Roadway
A Long Island teenager was hospitalized after being struck by a pickup truck. The 15-year-old girl was riding her bicycle on Bayville Avenue in Bayville at approximately 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, when she was struck by a 2020 Dodge Ram head-on before the driver turned left onto Dickerson Avenue, police said. The teenager suffered head trauma and was airlifted by a Nassau County Police helicopter to a local hospital, where she is currently listed in stable condition. Long Island Worker Rescued After Falling Through Roof
A worker at a busy Long Island building had to be rescued after falling through a hatch on the roof, police said. First responders were dispatched to Covanta on Merchants Concourse in East Garden City at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, where there was a report of a man that fell nearly two dozen feet through a roof. Upon arrival, it was determined that a worker fell through a hatch on the roof, dropping approximately 20 feet onto another tier of roofing prior to his rescue. Man Crossing Busy Long Island Road Suffers Head Trauma After Getting Hit By Van
A man crossing a busy Long Island roadway was seriously injured after being hit by a van. It happened on Monday, June 22 just after 9 a.m. in Hicksville. A 51-year-old man was driving a 2016 Ford van on West Old Country Road that struck a 62-year-old man crossing from south to north in the vicinity of Newbridge Road, Nassau County Police said. Man Found Dead Along Roadside In Wyandanch Was 'Victim Of Violence,' Police Say
This story has been updated. A man found dead on the side of a roadway in Wyandanch was a victim of violence and suffered from head trauma, according to the Suffolk County Police. Homicide detectives are currently investigating the death of the man who was found dead by a sanitation worker on the side of Spruce Street, south of Jefferson Avenue, at approximately 7:15 a.m., Thursday, May 30, the department said.
