Long Island Man Nabbed For Auto Theft, Burglary Following Brief Pursuit, Police Say A Long Island man allegedly driving a stolen vehicle was nabbed after an officer spotted him minutes after the theft. Nassau County police said the incident took place around 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, May 21 in Hempstead when an officer from the Hempstead Police Department spotted the stolen vehicle.
