Suffolk Man Nabbed After Attempting $7.5K Grandparent Scam, Police Say A Long Island man is facing charges after allegedly scamming an elderly man out of thousands of dollars, police said. According to fraud and forgery detectives from the Nassau County Police Department, an unknown man contacted his 86-year-old victim in Carle Place on Wednesday, Oct. 23 and claimed to be a lawyer representing his grandson after he was arrested for DWI.  The man stated that the accident occurred in Atlantic City, a pregnant woman in the second car was injured and taken to the hospital. The suspect told the victim the judge would only release his grandson for $7,500…
