Central Islip Man Sentenced To 10 Years For Child Sexual Abuse: DA
A man who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a child for six years has now been sentenced to a decade behind bars, according to authorities.
On Wednesday, April 12, Central Islip resident Elmer Martinez, age 44, received the sentence, with an additional 10 years of post-release supervision, a month after pleading guilty to the abuse, the Suffolk County District Attorney announced.
Martinez, according to the investigation and his guilty plea, began the abuse in the fall of 2014.
The victim was 10 years old at the time.
