Man On Cocaine, Fentanyl Drove 120 MPH During Long Island Crash That Killed Dad, Kids: Police
The man responsible for a triple-fatal crash on Long Island has been identified and faces multiple charges, police announced.
On Friday, Aug. 11, Nassau County Police announced that Michael Deangelo, age 32, was arrested in connection to a Massapequa car crash that killed three members of the same family.
Deangelo, who is from Lindenhurst, was reportedly driving under the influence of cocaine and fentanyl on Sunday, Aug. 6 on Sunrise Highway when he hit three other cars at approximately 7:20 p.m.
One second prior to the impact, he was traveling 120.55 miles per hour.

Woman Accused Of Driving Impaired With 4-Year-Old Passenger, Crashing Into Vehicle In Commack
A 33-year-old woman was charged after police said she drove with a 4-year-old passenger while impaired and rear-ended another vehicle on Long Island.
The crash happened in Commack at about 9:50 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, on Harned Road near Cutchogue Lane, the Suffolk County Police Department reported.
Kristine Mazza, of Smithtown, was driving a 2005 Hyundai south on Harned Road when she rear-ended another vehicle, police said.
Officers determined that Mazza was under the influence of drugs, and located her daughter, who was unharmed, in the backseat of the vehicle, SCPD said.

Long Island Man Driving Drunk Strikes 3-Year-Old, Adult, Police Say
A Long Island man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after hitting two pedestrians, including a 3-year-old girl, police said.
Datt Varum, age 36, of Syosset, was arrested around 4:40 p.m., Monday, May 31, on Ann Drive in Syosset.
According to Nassau County Police, Varum was driving a 2020 Hyundai south on Ann Drive when he left the roadway on the wrong side striking the young girl and a 33-year-old man on the sidewalk before hitting a 2019 Hyundai that was parked.
The girl suffered abrasions to her face and legs, said police.

East Hampton Man Charged With DWI Following Crash
An East Hampton man was arrested for driving under the influence after crashing his vehicle while allegedly drunk, police say.
Wilson Guerrero, 50, was arrested around 2 a.m., on Monday, Aug. 26, on East Hampton Drive, said the East Hampton Police.
When officers approached the vehicle they reported detecting a strong odor of alcohol, police said.
After "performing poorly" on a series of field sobriety tests, Guerrero was charged with DWI and released on $1,500 cash bail.
