Long Island Man Ditches Stolen Vehicle, Tries To Escape On Bicycle, Police Say
A local man was arrested after allegedly fleeing from police on Long Island in a stolen vehicle, and then trying to escape on a bicycle.
Joseph A Minnieer, age 31, of Island Park, was arrested at 146 p.m., Wednesday, April 14, after he was spotted by an officer driving a stolen vehicle through his police vehicle's plate reader, said the Long Beach Police Department.
After verifying the stolen vehicle, Officer Christopher Baldeo attempted to conduct a traffic stop at the intersection at National Blvd. and West Market St.
