Long Island Man Arrested After Attacking Store Attendant During Robbery Attempt, Police Say A 39-year-old Long Island man who allegedly attempted to rob a convenience store and beat the attendant has been arrested.  Nassau County Police said the incident took place around 7:50 a.m., Thursday, June 4, at the US Gas store in Farmingdale. Carlos Alfaro, 22, of Roosevelt, will be arraigned Wednesday, Feb. 19,  with two counts of second-degree murder, said the Nassau County Police. According to detectives, Alfaro is responsible for the 2016 murder of Josue Amaya Leonor, 19, whose body was found in 2018 in a wooded area of the Roosevelt Preserve during an investigation by the Homicide Squad, along with Homeland Security investigators.
