Ford Recalls Vehicles Due To Under-Hood Fire Risk
Ford is recalling some 2021 Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators over a defect that could spark fires under the hoods. The recall involves more than 66,000 vehicles in the US built between July 2020 and August 2021. At issue is a printed circuit board that is “uniquely susceptible to a high-current short” and was installed on the models during that time period, according to Ford. So far, there have been at least 21 reports of under-hood fires, including 18 involving vehicles owned by rental companies, Ford said. Multiple Car Fires Break Out At Popular Long Island Mall
An investigation is underway after multiple car fires broke out at a popular Long Island mall. The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Roosevelt Field Mall located at 630 Old Country Road in East Garden City. That's when Nassau County Police Department Third Precinct officers responded to a call for multiple vehicles on fire in the parking lot of Dick’s Sporting Goods. Photos: Multiple Car Fires Break Out On Southern State Parkway In Suffolk
Two car fires on the westbound lane of the Southern State Parkway on Long Island slowed traffic for a short time. The incidents took place around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, between Exits 36 and 37 near the Pinelawn Cemetery in North Babylon, officials said. No injuries were reported.
