Noose Found At Long Island Work Site
A noose was found hanging at a Long Island worksite shared by PSEG Long Island and National Grid for the second time in several months in an incident that could be a potential bias crime. PSEG officials said that on Monday, Nov. 22, an employee found a rope hanging from the company’s facility on Mill Road in Hewlett that was in the shape of a noose. Vandalism At LI Mosque Being Investigated As Bias Crime, Police Say
Trash mixed in with human waste that was tossed into a Long Island mosque earlier this month is being treated as a bias crime, authorities announced. On Friday, Aug. 13, a man was caught on camera walking up to the front door of the Faizan-e-Aisha mosque on Heitz Place in Hicksville twice, tossing shovels of garbage and urine near the front door. According to reports, the package landed in the area of the mosque where congregants would leave their shoes before heading inside to pray. Police Investigating After LI Sikh Temple Broken Into, Spray-Painted with S
Investigators are asking the public for information after a suspect broke into a Long Island Sikh temple and bias slurs and religious words were spray-painted on the building. The incident happened sometime between Monday, Aug. 2, and Tuesday, Aug. 3, at about 5:40 p.m., according to the Nassau County Police Department. NCPD said the temple is located at 383 Jericho Turnpike in Floral Park.
