A Nassau County Police officer saw was on routine patrol in Oceanside and saw smoke coming from the corner of a building on Oceanside Road at about 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, NCPD reported. Police said the officer knocked on the front door of the home and helped the three occupants who were in the process of evacuating. The fire took place in Roosevelt around 3:35 p.m., Sunday, April 17, said the Nassau County Police. When officers responded to the call after receiving a 911 call they found that four residents had made it safely outside the burning home, but one man was trapped inside, police said. Three Nassau County officers ran into the home and performed a search for the trapped victim.
