Eastport-South Manor Schools Superintendent Placed On Paid Leave

Eastport-South Manor Schools Superintendent Patrick Brimstein, who was brought into the district two years ago to help the district’s finances, has been placed on administrative leave.

“Please be advised, effective immediately, Dr. Patrick Brimstein has been placed on administrative leave,” Eastport-South Manor School District President Nicholas Vero wrote in a letter to the community this week. “Until an interim superintendent is appointed, please direct concerns to Assistant Superintendents Linda Weiss and Tim Laube.”

School officials have not announced a reason for Brimstein’s departure. Brimstein’s leave came as the Board of Education and community are working to finalize a budget for the next academic year.
