It happened on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 8:05 p.m. in Manhasset.
While attempting to cross Plandome Road, from the east side to the west side, a woman was struck by a 2018 Toyota traveling northbound in the vicinity of Park Avenue.
The 79-year-old woman suffered multiple injuries and was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead at 11:52 pm by a hospital physician.
The female operator, 79, remained at the scene. The vehicle was brake and safety checked.
The investigation is ongoing.
