Karla Velasquez, of Roosevelt, was arrested for an incident that happened in Syosset at 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Officers responded to a disturbance at a location on Greenvale Lane and found Velasquez and a 31-year-old woman in the back of the location, police said.

The woman had seen Velasquez rummaging through a shed in her backyard, and she told Velasquez to leave the property, NCPD said.

Police said Velasquez refused, and she kicked the woman in the stomach and bit her finger.

NCPD said Velasquez resisted arrest, and an officer was injured.

The officer, Velasquez, and the 31-year-old woman were all hospitalized, police said.

Authorities said Velasquez is charged with:

  • Second- and third-degree assault
  • Resisting arrest
  • Third-degree criminal trespass

She is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday, July 13, NCPD said.
