Suspect On Loose After Burglary At Popular Long Island Market

A suspect is at large after a burglary at a popular Long Island market.

It happened just after 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 12 in Oceanside.

According to Nassau County Police detectives, a 27-year-old male employee responded to Farmer Joel’s Market located at 177 Davison Avenue for an alarm ringing. 

Upon arrival, he observed a male suspect in the rear alley near the rear door using a hand truck wheeling an ATM machine that was inside the store. 

When the subject realized he was being observed by the employee, he dropped the machine and fled on foot east on Madison Avenue, police said.

Later the victim also noticed that the front door glass was shattered and the rear door pried open. 

An undetermined amount of US Currency left in a register inside was also discovered to be missing.

The suspect is described as being 6-foot-2, black, with a heavy build wearing dark clothing. There were no injuries reported.
