PDQ, which stands for People Dedicated to Quality, will open its first New York restaurant on Sunday, July 21 in Farmingdale.

The menu features hand-breaded chicken tenders, signature homemade sauces and dressings, and made-to-order sandwiches like the Honey Butter and Cali Club. There are also hand-spun milkshakes and salads.

The menu is chef-driven with "mindful ingredients" but with the convenience of a fast-food restaurant, according to the company.

Restauranteurs Dean Poll and Thomas J. Fanning, Sr. own the Farmingdale restaurant.

Dean Poll was born and raised on Long Island and his father, James Poll owned  Pappas restaurant in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn.

Dean Poll and his brothers bought Manero’s in Roslyn, which they transformed into what is now known as Bryant & Cooper.

Dean Poll also owns the Loeb Boathouse in Central Park and Gallagher’s Steakhouse on 52nd and Broadway in Manhattan.

Fanning, Sr. began as the proprietor of The Pig & Whistle restaurant on Long Island. Following that, he utilized his educational degree by joining CIGNA’s I.F.D. division.

The Farmingdale location will be operated by Ryan Basham, son of PDQ Co-Founder and Outback Steakhouse Co-Founder Bob Basham.

Basham founded Outback with Tim Gannon, Chris Sullivan and Trudy Cooper in Tampa in March of 1988.

PDQ at 1004 Broadhollow Road will be open every day and has a drive-thru, and catering for functions.
