The restaurant at 745 Middle Country Road is in a former Subway/Nathan's location.

The fare includes fresh poke bowls, natural smoothies, juices, and bubble tea, dumplings, and chicken.

The cafe is catching on fast with locals.

"You come in and order from a poke station and look through the counter and see what you want and we have a side to order dumplings and chicken," said manager Eva Chan.

The food is catching on with locals, she continued.

Customers are "saying how fresh the poke is and how well done the dumplings and sauces are," she continued.

They like the three-step layering where you select your bowl of rice, then protein of tuna, blue crab, grilled chicken among choices, then add a "mix-in" of cilantro, cucumber, shredded carrot, jalapeno, and others, and pick from a variety of savory sauces.

John A. of Central Islip said he's "obsessed" with Mrs. Poke Bowl Cafe, in a Yelp post. "I have been obsessed with poke bowls ever since the first one opened up about a year ago."  The post also mentions the restaurant "surpassed" his expectations.
