Duo Nabbed For Stabbing At Long Island Bar: Police

Over a month after four people were stabbed during a bar fight on Long Island, authorities have arrested the two people they say were responsible.

Nassau County Police announced the arrest of 23-year-old Shameq Sullins and 22-year-old Dayvonne Johnson on Monday, March 25 for their alleged role in a Valley Stream stabbing.

Johnson, who is from Roosevelt, and Sullins, from Hempstead, were reportedly the two responsible for the Saturday, Feb. 3 incident that started at Moods Lounge and Cafe, located at 269 West Merrick Road.

That evening, the two men got into a fight with a group of four people, which soon turned physical and spilled out onto the streets.

At about 3:30 a.m., police found the four victims — a 33-year-old man, a 34-year-old man, a 31-year-old woman, and a 26-year-old woman — near the intersection of North Central Avenue and West Merrick Road, all with stab wounds and lacerations.

Police said that Johnson and Sullins fled the scene.

Sullins is charged with:

First-degree assault, two counts; and
Criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He pleaded not guilty and is due in court on Tuesday, March 26.

Johnson, for his part, was charged with two counts of third-degree assault. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, April 5.
