DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Parts of Dutchess County could see as much as 2 inches of accumulation from the storm expected to arrive overnight and continue into Friday, according to new projections released Wednesday morning.

Rain is expected to arrive in the area after 9 p.m. Thursday, mixing with snow just before dawn.

The mix of snow and rain should continue through around 9 a.m. Friday, follow by rain and sleet until 1 p.m. Precipitation will return to all rain early in the afternoon as the high reaches around 37 degrees. By that time, anywhere from a quarter to 2 inches of snow is possible in Dutchess, with higher amounts farther north in the county.

Rain is likely early Saturday morning followed by a chance of showers during a mostly cloudy day in which the high temperature will be in the mid-40s.

Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high around 50.
