The New York State Department of Transportation is warning motorists of the upcoming road closure on a busy stretch of Route 9.
The Department says that a road closure is scheduled for Route 9 northbound and southbound between Elm Street and Merritt Boulevard in Dutchess.
The closure begins Thursday, Aug. 29 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. while crews perform construction activities, weather permitting.
During this time, motorists are advised to use extra caution when traveling through the work zone areas and pay particular attention to traffic control devices like signs and flaggers.
Additionally, motorists should anticipate minor delays and plan accordingly, the DOT says.
