Street Turns To River After 107-Year-Old Water Main Ruptures In Region (Developing) Crews are responding to a “substantial” water main break in the region that has inundated a residential neighborhood with a torrent of flood water. The Rensselaer County incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18 in Troy’s Lansingburgh neighborhood, near 7th Avenue and 124th Street. According to city officials, a 30-inch cast iron water main running along 124th Street broke somewhere between 6th and 7th avenues. Water Main Break Leads To Early Dismissal At HS, MS In Hudson Valley A water main break has resulted in early dismissals at a high school and middle school in Westchester. The break "involves a significant 12-inch pipe that has no timeline for completion," Mount Pleasant Central School Superintendent Peter Giarrizzo said in an email to the community late Thursday morning, May 12.  Giarrizzo said there is currently no water at both Westlake High School, Westlake Middle School and the district office. Boil Water Notice Issued For Village Of Wappingers Falls A boil water notice has been issued for the entire Village of Wappingers Falls after a water main was broken during construction improvements. The incident took place on Tuesday, April 16, on Wenliss Terrace, when an existing water main was broken due to unknown existing water main pipe location, village officials said. Water Main Break Closes Street In Wallkill A busy roadway in Wallkill was closed on Wednesday as crews deal with a water main break in the area. The Wallkill Office of Emergency Management issued an alert at approximately 5:30 a.m., cautioning that East Main Street will be closed between Ridgewood Avenue and Brookline Avenue as crews deal with the water main break.
