Albany County resident Michael Furch, age 34, of Guilderland, died following a single-vehicle crash on I-787 in Albany on Thursday, June 20. New York State Police said Furch was operating a motorcycle when he lost control and struck a concrete barrier while exiting I-787 on the flyover ramp to I-90. Former Police Officer, Army Veteran From Hudson Valley Dies A beloved husband and father from the Hudson Valley who was both a US Army veteran and a former police officer in Westchester County has died.  Putnam County resident Richard Kennedy of Carmel died on Saturday, Nov. 19 at the age of 72, according to his obituary.  Born in 1949 in New York City, Kennedy served in the US Army from 1968 to 1970 and then served as a police officer in Port Chester until he retired in 1977, his obituary said.  A lover of the outdoors, Kennedy could often be found hunting and loved spending time with friends at his "Hunting Cabin," according to his…

Fatal Stabbing Of Beloved Veteran Under Investigation In Beacon Police in the Hudson Valley are investigating the death of a beloved veteran who was stabbed to death on Christmas Day. Dutchess County resident Rene ‘Scout’ Vivo, age 65, a longtime resident of Beacon, died on Saturday, Dec. 25 after being stabbed in Beacon. The City of Beacon Police, which did not return calls for information, said on Facebook that it is actively investigating the stabbing.
