The incident happened in Ulster County on Monday, May 1 in the town of Ulster at the I Park 87 property (former IBM campus) on Enterprise Drive. Greg Thayer, age 48, of Kingston, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 29, for the death of Bruce Swierc, of Torrance, California, in the town of Ulster.  Thayer was arrested after police responded to a 911 call for a deceased man at a home on Magic Drive in Ulster, according to Police Chief Kyle Berardi, of the town of Ulster. Christopher Reed, age 41, of San Antonio, Texas, was arrested on Monday, Sept. 27, after police responded to the Rodeway Inn on Forest Hill Drive in the town of Ulster for a report of a woman taken at gunpoint. An investigation revealed that Reed had displayed a weapon while demanding the woman get into the vehicle with him, according to Chief Kyle Berardi, of the Ulster Police. Apartment Fire Breaks Out In Area An apartment fire that broke out in the area was controlled in about 20 minutes.  Firefighters in Ulster County responded to the Lake Katrine Apartments on Neighborhood Road at approximately 6:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3. New Windsor Man Caught With Drugs After Traffic Stop A New Windsor man was busted for possession of a controlled substance after being stopped for a traffic violation.Gean L. Pittman, 38, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 15, on Washington Avenue after officers found he was in possession of two separate controlled substances, the town of Ulster Police said in a press release.  Pittman was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and for not wearing a seatbelt.  He was processed and released.

911 Call Leads To Felony DWI Charge For Dutchess Woman At Convenience Store A 911 call led to the arrest of a 41-year-old woman for felony drunk driving after police found her inside her vehicle in a Quick Chek parking lot. Lisa D. Jackson of Red Hook was arrested after Ulster Police responded to the store on Ulster Avenue and found that she was driving under the influence and with a suspended license, Ulster police said. During the course of the arrest, Jackson refused to submit to a breath test, police said.
