Hudson Valley Man Nabbed For DWI After Almost Hitting Deputy Sheriff, Police Say State Troopers arrested a town of Hudson Valley man for allegedly driving while intoxicated after he almost struck a deputy sheriff who was assisting a disabled tractor-trailer at the time. The incident occurred in Orange County around 9:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11 in Campbell Hall a hamlet of Hamptonburgh. Fatal Hit-Run In Hudson Valley: Victim ID'd, Unlicensed 24-Year-Old Suspect Nabbed An unlicensed suspect has been apprehended and a victim identified after a fatal hit-and-run crash in Westchester County. It happened just before 9:40 a.m. Friday, June 23 in Yonkers. Upon arrival, first responders located an unresponsive victim down in the street with blunt force trauma to his body; he was transported to a local area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, the Yonkers Police Department said.  The vehicle that allegedly struck him fled the area prior to police arrival.  Officers cordoned off the scene and initiated accident and criminal investigations.…

Passing Car Takes Door Off Police Cruiser In Hudson Valley: Video State police are urging motorists to move over for emergency vehicles after a door was taken off one trooper's cruiser by a car that failed to do so in Westchester.  The incident happened on Sunday, April 2 around 11:30 a.m., when Trooper Robert Schaeffer was exiting his cruiser after pulling over on Interstate 95 in New Rochelle, according to state police.  Although his cruiser's emergency lights were activated, a passing car still failed to obey the state's "Move Over" law and took the door off the cruiser as Schaeffer opened it.
