Child Sex Abuse: Man Preyed On Underage Victim In Region, Police Say A 68-year-old man is facing sex crime charges after allegedly abusing a child from the region. John Donaldson, of Lackawanna in Erie County, was arrested Thursday, July 13, following a joint investigation by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office and the Lackawanna Police Department. According to deputies, Donaldson had sexual contact with a child under the age of 11. It was not immediately clear how he and the victim knew one another or when the alleged abuse occurred. Woman From Region Smuggled Drugs Into Jail For Inmate Relative, Police Say A woman from the region has gone from jail visitor to possible jail inmate after allegedly smuggling drugs into a correctional facility for a relative. Saratoga County resident Rondene Brust, age 53, of Ballston Spa, was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 11, after she allegedly brought a controlled substance into the Saratoga County jail, according to sheriff’s officials. Brust then passed the “dangerous contraband” to an inmate, 32-year-old Bryan Brust, of Ballston Spa, police said. Authorities did not immediately clarify the relationship between the two. Man From Region Accused Of Assaulting, Strangling 1-Year-Old A Capital District man is facing charges after allegedly becoming so violent with a 1-year-old that he strangled the child. Saratoga County resident William Burden, age 30, of Ballston, was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 9, after someone reported the alleged incident to police. Burden is accused of striking and obstructing the child’s breathing, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.  Police did not say how Burden and the child are related, only that the child is known to him.
