Store Robbery Suspect Flees Cops, Crashes Into Area Home, Police Say A 39-year-old man is behind bars accused in a string of commercial burglaries in the region. Scott Vanbergen, of Saratoga County, was arrested Friday, Nov. 17, in connection with an attempted robbery at a Stewart’s Shops in Schenectady, located on McClellan Street. Officers were called after an employee pushed a panic alarm, according to Schenectady Police. The worker told officers that a man had attempted to steal the cash register but was unsuccessful.
