Dutchess County Man Nabbed With Illegal Handgun During Stop, Police Say A Hudson Valley man was arrested for allegedly driving without a valid license and criminal possession of a weapon. Dutchess County resident Kwesi Paul, age 42, of Pleasant Valley, was arrested around 1 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 27 after being stopped by New York State Police on Route 44. According to Trooper AJ Hicks, Paul was stopped in 2013 Chrysler 200 for violations of the vehicle and traffic law on Route 44 in the town of Pleasant Valley.  An investigation determined that Paul had revoked driving privileges and that he was in illegal possession of a 9mm Ruger P94 handgun, Hicks said…

Tanker Fire Causes Dutchess Road Closure Route 22 is shut down in both directions Saturday night in the Town of Amenia between the Amenia Town Hall and the intersection of Route 343 following a tanker fire, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports just before 9:30 p.m. Traffic can still travel west on Route 44 towards Millbrook and east on Route 343 towards Connecticut. The road closure is due to the brakes on a loaded gasoline tanker catching fire and disabling the vehicle.  The tank has not been compromised and there has been no release of hazardous materials.  The Amenia and Wassaic Fire Departments extinguished the fire …
