$30M Insider Trading Case: Dutchess Duo Profited From Pharmaceutical Merger Info, Feds Say
Four men from New York and Massachusetts, including a police chief, are accused of making millions of dollars through an insider trading scheme involving one pharmaceutical company’s acquisition of another.
The case, announced by the US Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York on Thursday, June 29, is one of four separate insider trading cases that reportedly generated a combined $30 million for those involved.
Named in the case are:
Shawn Cronin, age 43, of Dighton in Bristol County, Massachusetts and chief of the Dighton Police Department

Poughkeepsie Dealer Nabbed For Overdose Deaths From Fentanyl-Laced Heroin
A Hudson Valley alleged drug dealer has been charged in connection with the overdose deaths of four people.
Dutchess County resident Allen Peloquin, aka "Ace," age 34, of Poughkeepsie, was taken into custody on Thursday, March 31.
Peloquin was charged with distributing fentanyl-laced heroin that resulted in the death of a woman in Putnam County in Carmel, in Feb. 2020, and a man in Poughkeepsie, in May 2020, said Damian Williams, the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

Four Store Clerks Charged With Selling Alcohol To Minors In Dutchess Detail
Four store clerks in the Hudson Valley are facing charges for selling booze to minors during an underage drinking detail conducted by New York State Police.
On Friday, July 3, New York State Police troopers in Wappinger conducted the underage drinking detail in 24 locations in Dutchess County, leading to citations being issued to employees at four convenience stores.
Those charged are:
