12-Year-Old Accused Of Threatening 'Mass Harm' At School In Region A 12-year-old boy is accused of making threats against a middle school in the region. Saratoga County Sheriff’s deputies were called just before 7 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, after a social media threat was discovered against O’Rourke Middle School in Burnt Hills. Deputies did not elaborate on the nature of the threat but determined that it was not credible. There was no disruption to school activities. Man From Region Sexually Abuses Young Child, Police Say A 52-year-old man from the region is facing charges after allegedly sexually abusing a young child. Columbia County resident Robert Schaefer, of Ghent, was arrested Monday, Sept. 18, by New York State Police. According to troopers, Schaefer sexually abused a victim under the age of 11. Investigators did not elaborate on his relationship to the alleged victim. Schaefer is charged with felony sexual abuse and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned in Kinderhook Court, where a judge ordered him held at the Columbia County jail on $5,000 cash bail.
