A letter from prison allegedly written by Gilgo Beach serial murders suspect Rex Heuermann has been shared by notorious "Happy Face Killer" Keith Jesperson.Jesperson, now 68 years old, murdered at least eight women in the United States during the early 1990s. 2.2 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Hudson Valley
An overnight earthquake startled some residents and shook buildings in Westchester. The United States Geological Survey said it had a magnitude of 2.2, was centered near the border of Hastings-on-Hudson and Yonkers, about 18 miles north of midtown Manhattan, and was felt at around 1:53 a.m. Friday, May 19. An interactive map of the quake by the USGS is available here and in the image above. There have not been any reports of injuries or damage. Police in the Hudson Valley are asking the public for help locating an 11-year-old boy who is missing. Rockland County resident Justin Chen, of the village of Nyack, was last seen around 3 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 6 at his home. Det. Sgt. Anthony Palazolo, of the Orangetown Police Department, says Chen may have traveled to White Plains or Midtown Manhattan. Chen was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and white Adidas sneakers and was carrying a green canvas backpack, police said. Two Killed, Including 7-Year-Old, After Boat Capsizes In Hudson River
Two people, including a 7-year-old boy, were killed after a boat with more than a dozen on board capsized in the Hudson River. The incident happened around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 12 in midtown Manhattan near the Intrepid off Pier 84 and West 46th Street. A 50-year-old woman was killed when the vessel capsized, authorities said. Two more cases of the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in New York City, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on Thursday morning, March 5. The two reportedly are a woman in her 80s and man in his 40s. Three New York City residents have no been diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus. NY DMV To Hire More Workers, Increase Hours Amid Long Lines After Green Light Law Takes Effect
To accommodate growing lines and exorbitant wait times at New York DMV locations created by the new Green Light Law, hundreds of new workers are being employed, and hours are being extended throughout the state. Pilot Killed In Chopper Crash-Landing On Manhattan High-Rise From Dutchess
A helicopter pilot who was killed while crashing-landing on the roof of a building Monday afternoon in midtown Manhattan was from Dutchess County, the FAA reported. Tim McCormack of Clinton Corners was the only victim in the crash. He was reported deceased 45 minutes later. His father and grandfather were Poughkeepsie firefighters. NYC Bus Terminal Re-Opened After Hour-Long Lockdown
The Port Authority Bus Terminal in midtown Manhattan was reopened following a lockdown Wednesday morning after a suspicious white powder was found.
