Man, Woman Killed In Hit-Run Hudson Valley Crash, Driver Caught, Police Say
A man and a woman were struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while attempting to cross a busy roadway in the region.
The crash occurred in Ulster County around 9:30 p.m., Saturday, March 1 in the town of Marlboro.
According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that Donna Cristallo, age 72, was pushing Stephen Celuch, age 75, both of Kingston, in his wheelchair attempting to cross Route 9W.

Covid-19: Tony Falco, Owner Of Performance Venue In Area, Dies At 65
The owner of a well-known performance venue in the Hudson Valley has died at the age of 65.
Anthony "Tony" Falco, of Marlboro, died on Thursday, Oct. 28, after he experienced complications from COVID-19 for six months, according to an announcement from Live at the Falcon, which is located in Ulster County.
"A man with many passions and skills, a loving husband and father, and an engaged community leader, Tony is perhaps best known as the owner of The Falcon, the innovative music venue he founded in the early 2000s in Marlboro," his obituary reads.

25 Charged In Dutchess Impaired Driving Crackdown
During a Halloween crackdown on impaired drivers, law enforcement agencies in Dutchess County arrested more than two dozen drivers for alleged DWI.
Between Thursday, Oct. 31, and Sunday, Nov. 3, local, county and state police agencies teamed to increase DWI checkpoints and saturation patrols throughout Dutchess.
In total, 26 arrests were made, 25 of which were for impaired driving. The crackdown was the first of eight planned during the holiday season.

ID Released For Woman Killed In Multi-Vehicle Route 9W Crash
Police have released the identity of a woman killed during a mulitple-vehicle crash on Route 9W in the town of Newburgh.
Barbara Moloney, 78, of Marlboro, was killed during a four-vehicle crash that took place around 1:40 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, on Route 9W, north of Lattintown Road, said Town of Newburgh Police Lt. James Nenni.
The other three drivers received treatment for less serious injuries, Nenni said.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation and no further information on anyone else involved is being released at this time, he added.

Every proposed school budget and ballot issue in Dutchess County was approved on Tuesday.
Taxpayers from the following school districts approved proposed spending plans: Arlington, Beacon, Dover, Highland, Hyde Park, Marlboro, Millbrook, New Paltz, Pawling, Pine Plains, Poughkeepsie, Red Hook, Rhinebeck, Spackenkill, Wappingers and Webutuck.

Frank Skartados, Assemblyman Who Represented Dutchess, Dies At 62
Frank Skartados, longtime Assemblyman for the 104th District in the Hudson Valley, died Sunday morning at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh just weeks after being hospitalized with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
He was 62.
The 104th district includes both the City of Newburgh and the Town of Newburgh; as well as the City of Beacon, the City of Poughkeepsie, the Hamlet of Marlboro, and the Town of Lloyd.
