Fatal Hit-Run: 17-Year-Old Struck By Drunk Driver In Region, Police Say A 67-year-old man faces numerous felony charges after fleeing the scene of a crash in New York that left a teenage boy dead, police said.  Sullivan County resident Thomas Piatt, age 67, of Bethel, was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 31 for his role in a crash that left a 17-year-old Cochecton resident dead, according to state police.  At the time of the incident, around 12:40 a.m. on Thursday, state police responded to Route 17B in Bethel on a report of a fatal crash.
