Fire Breaks Out In Recently Purchased Town Of Poughkeepsie Home A fire broke out in a recently purchased area home after rags caught fire, causing damage to the kitchen and floor, fire officials said. The Arlington Fire District was dispatched to a Briarwood Drive home in the Town of Poughkeepsie at approximately 10:50 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, where there was a reported two-alarm house fire and smoke coming from the second-story windows of a two-story residence, Arlington Fire Chief William Steenbergh said.
