18-Year-Old Dies In Single-Car Crash In Region An 18-year-old man died following a single-car crash on a highway in the region. Emergency crews in Columbia County were called at around 10:15 p.m. Thursday, April 7, with reports of a fatal crash on Route 9G in Germantown, according to State Police. An investigation found that Raphael McDonald, of Athens in Greene County, was speeding in the northbound lane when he lost control on a curve. The vehicle slid off the road and crashed into a utility pole. McDonald was ejected from the car and died at the scene, police said. Emergency crews in Columbia County were called at around 2:50 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, with reports of a crash in the town of Livingston, at the intersection of State Route 9 and County Route 8, according to State Police. When troopers arrived, they found a Nissan Titan driven by Thomas Jahoda, of Germantown, off the roadway. Investigators determined he had struck a gravel pile before crashing into a tree. The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrests of Milan resident Kyle Coon and Germantown resident Jon Holt this week, who are facing charges in relation to a string of burglaries in the area between Sept. 22 and Sept. 27 last month.
